IDA Easter Cup 2026: A Second Edition That Raised the Standard
April 15, 2026
The second edition of the IDA Easter Cup didn’t just build on its debut – it elevated everything.
With 800 players, 50 teams, and more than 2,000 attendees, Valencia once again became a global meeting point for youth football. Teams traveled from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Australia, and the United States — including players representing both the East and West Coast – bringing with them not only talent, but identity, culture, and passion.

Across four unforgettable days, the tournament delivered far more than football.
A Truly International Stage
From the very first whistle, it was clear: this was a competition defined by quality and diversity.
The presence of top Spanish academies, combined with a record number of international teams, created a unique competitive environment – one where styles clashed, players adapted, and every match became a learning experience.
Clubs like St Mirren FC, Washington Premier, Levante UD, Mislata CF, and Atlético Moncadense, among others, helped shape a tournament that balanced high-level competition with player development.

2026 Champions Highlights:
- Washington Premier — U16 Champions
- Levante UD — Girls U14 Champions
- Mislata CF — Girls U12 Champions
- St Mirren FC — Boys U11 & U12 Champions
- Atlético Moncadense — Boys U14 Champions
More Than a Tournament
What truly sets the IDA Easter Cup apart is everything that happens beyond the pitch.
This year’s edition placed a strong emphasis on connection, culture, and shared experience. From the opening moments of the tournament to the final matches, teams were part of an environment designed to bring people together.

Highlights included:
- An Opening Ceremony celebrating each team individually
- A shared paella experience, bringing all participants together
- A welcome BBQ for international teams at the start of the event
These moments created opportunities for players from different parts of the world to connect, exchange cultures, and build relationships that extended beyond competition.
As Tournament Director Jordi Gómez reflected:
“The bonding between teams from different parts of the world and the Spanish teams has been one of the most impressive aspects – not only during games, but in shared moments throughout the event.”
The Experience Around the Game
The road to the tournament was just as memorable as the competition itself.
Teams had the opportunity to experience football at a high level through a range of behind-the-scenes moments and activities throughout the week.

Among these, Surf Select visited the RCDE Stadium (Espanyol), while IDA Select stepped inside Mestalla (Valencia CF). Some teams also had the opportunity to attend the La Liga match between Valencia CF and RC Celta at Mestalla – offering a direct look at the professional game in action.
Moments like these gave players a glimpse into elite football environments, adding another layer to their overall tournament experience.
And throughout the week, players were also surrounded by the unexpected.
From surprise appearances by football figures like Dani Parejo, to special guests like Umar Sadiq, the message was clear:
At IDA Easter Cup… anything can happen.
A Complete Tournament Environment
The tournament extended beyond the field, with teams staying across a range of partner accommodations and venues throughout the region.
These spaces became part of the experience – where players recovered between matches, teams bonded, and families connected.
Between games, meals, and downtime, the structure of the event allowed players to fully immerse themselves in the rhythm of an international tournament.
Voices From Around the World
The impact of the tournament was reflected in feedback from players, coaches, and families.
Participants highlighted:
- The opportunity to compete against international opposition
- The experience of football in a European setting
- The overall organization and atmosphere of the event
As one international family shared:
“We had an amazing time watching our son get to play soccer with and against kids from all over the world. Thank you for a wonderful experience.”
Others emphasized the broader impact of the tournament:
“More than a tournament – a milestone. It gave the boys confidence, sharper skills, and an even stronger team spirit.”
Beyond results, the experience was about growth – adapting to new styles of play, competing at a high level, and building connections with players from different countries.
For many, it was not only a competitive opportunity, but a cultural and personal one:
“To get to know people from around the world and experience the level of football in Europe – we loved every moment.”
Football, Atmosphere, and Community
Across every venue, the energy of the tournament was evident.

Families, supporters, and teammates created a constant presence, bringing intensity and enthusiasm to every match. From drums in the stands to chants and celebrations, the support played a key role in shaping the overall environment.
Even in the most competitive moments, the tournament maintained a strong emphasis on fair play, respect, and teamwork.
A Tournament to Remember
With strong participation, high-level competition, and a unique international atmosphere, the second edition of the IDA Easter Cup marked an important step forward.
It became not only a platform for player development, but also a space for cultural exchange, connection, and shared experiences.
Looking Ahead
As the tournament came to a close, one thing was clear: the IDA Easter Cup continues to grow in both scale and impact.
With increasing international presence and a strong foundation in place, future editions are set to build even further on what has already been established.
To all players, coaches, and families who took part – thank you for being part of this journey.
The next chapter is already in motion.
