More Than a Tournament: Why Morocco Should Be on Every Club’s International Calendar
July 30, 2026
Morocco isn’t simply hosting international football tournaments anymore: it’s becoming one of the world’s most exciting football destinations.
The country’s rise hasn’t happened by chance. Following years of investment in infrastructure, player development and elite competition, Morocco continues to establish itself as one of the strongest football nations in Africa. That progress has been reflected on the world stage, with another impressive FIFA World Cup campaign in 2026, and will continue as the country prepares to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
For youth clubs looking beyond the traditional tournament destinations, Surf Cup International Morocco offers something different: the opportunity to experience one of football’s fastest-growing markets while competing against talented teams from across Africa and beyond.
For Eufold Ladies FC, that opportunity became much more than a tournament.
Representing Ghana on an International Stage

Eufold Ladies FC, operating under the Eufold Soccer Foundation, is dedicated to creating opportunities for young girls through football.
The foundation combines player development with education, mentorship and life skills, helping young women build confidence while opening doors that extend far beyond the game itself.
When deciding where to take the next step internationally, Surf Cup International Morocco stood out.
“Surf Cup International Morocco offered strong competition and valuable international experience, helping our players learn, grow, and connect with others from around the world. It has motivated us to push hard for Europe in a few years.”
The tournament also marked an important milestone for the club.
As the first Ghanaian team ever to participate in Surf Cup International Morocco, Eufold proudly represented not only their players, but women’s football across their community and country.
“Being the first team from Ghana in the tournament inspired pride, encouraged our team to aim higher, and highlighted the potential of women’s football in our community, region and country.”
More Than Competition
Every international tournament promises competitive football.
The best ones deliver much more than that.
From arrival through the final whistle, Eufold described their experience as smooth, welcoming and professionally organized. The support provided throughout the trip allowed the team to focus on enjoying every aspect of the experience, both on and off the field.
The girls enjoyed the accommodation, tournament facilities and, perhaps most importantly, the opportunity to discover Moroccan culture firsthand.
For many young players, international travel is about more than football. It’s about seeing a new country, experiencing a different culture and creating memories that stay with them long after the medals have been awarded.
Football Brings People Together

Although most participating teams came from Morocco, one of the tournament’s biggest strengths was the opportunity for players to connect beyond competition.
Friendships were formed, experiences were shared and players discovered that football speaks a universal language.
For Eufold, those moments became some of the most meaningful memories of the week.
“The cultural exchanges meant a lot to our team. They enjoyed meeting new people, learning from others, and building friendships beyond football.”
As Surf Cup International Morocco continues to welcome more international clubs each year, those cultural exchanges only become richer.
Success on the Pitch

The football itself certainly lived up to expectations.
Eufold’s U15 Girls returned home as champions, with Eugenia Tackei finishing as the tournament’s Top Goalscorer and Joyce Okra earning the Best Goalkeeper award.
The achievements reflected a team built on dedication, teamwork and resilience – but they also highlighted the competitive level clubs can expect when participating in Surf Cup International Morocco.
Why More Clubs Should Look to Morocco
For years, youth clubs planning international tournaments have naturally looked toward destinations in Europe or North America.
But Morocco deserves to be part of that conversation.
Its football culture is among the strongest on the African continent. Its continued investment in facilities and player development has transformed the country into a destination attracting global attention. And with the FIFA World Cup coming to Morocco in 2030, there has never been a more exciting time to experience football there.
For African clubs, Surf Cup International Morocco offers the chance to compete internationally without leaving the continent while measuring themselves against different styles of play.
For clubs from Europe, North America, Asia and beyond, it provides something equally valuable: meaningful competition, cultural immersion and exposure to one of the newest, most exciting football environments in the world.
Eufold believes more teams should experience it for themselves.
“Surf Cup International Morocco offers high-level competition, cultural exchange, and valuable learning opportunities for players and coaches alike.”
As Morocco continues to grow as one of world football’s emerging hubs, Surf Cup International Morocco offers clubs the opportunity to be part of that journey – not just by competing, but by experiencing a country where football is shaping the future every single day.
