Rhode Island Surf, New England Surf, New Jersey Surf and New York Surf join forces for an international soccer experience bringing young female players together in Rio de Janeiro.

Four Surf clubs are coming together for a unique international experience as Rhode Island Surf, New England Surf, New Jersey Surf, and New York Surf prepare to travel to Brazil during the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Organized in partnership with Global Sports Experiences (GSE), the eight-night trip, taking place June 23 – July 1, 2027, will bring together U12, U14 and U16 girls from all four clubs for a shared experience combining soccer development, international competition and the excitement of the world’s biggest women’s soccer tournament.

More than an international trip, this collaboration represents an opportunity to bring players, coaches and families from different Surf communities together, strengthening connections across clubs while creating memories on and off the field.

“Bringing four Surf clubs together for something this special is a fantastic opportunity,” said Jon Feinstein of East Coast Surf. “Our players will experience the Women’s World Cup in Brazil while building friendships and connections across our clubs. It’s the kind of experience that can inspire them for years to come.”

“There’s a big difference between watching the game grow and being part of it,” said Aleksej Skundric, General Manager of Rhode Island Surf. “Our girls will be competing in Brazil while the best players in the world are doing the same, and sharing that experience with players from across the Surf community. That’s a perspective you can’t recreate on a regular training field.”

Train, Compete and Experience Brazil

The soccer program will feature four training sessions at professional club facilities in Rio de Janeiro, such as Flamengo and Fluminense, led by local club coaching staff, alongside two friendly matches against Brazilian opposition and a futsal match, introducing players to different dimensions of Brazil’s soccer culture.

Off the field, participants will experience the atmosphere of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, including a tournament match in Rio de Janeiro and the FIFA Fan Festival.

The experience also includes opportunities to explore the city’s iconic landmarks, from Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain to the legendary Maracanã Stadium, along with a beach footvolley session and time to enjoy Rio’s vibrant culture.

Together, the four Surf clubs are creating an opportunity that goes beyond the results on the field, celebrating the growth of women’s soccer while connecting the next generation of players through shared international experiences.
